ESM’s Global Expansion Gathers Pace With Newest Middle East Customer
The University of Sharjah to automate end-to-end spend management with ESM and Ellucian Ethos integration
The University of Sharjah, a leading higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates, will soon deploy ESM’s spend management solutions to revolutionize its procure-to-pay processes. The research university based in University City in the Emirate of Sharjah serves 15,000 students and is the second largest university in the United Arab Emirates.
With ESM, the University of Sharjah can move away from manual, paper-based processes as it automates its procurement, sourcing, accounts payable, storeroom, supplier and contract management functions. The institution will fully integrate its ERP - Banner Finance by Ellucian - with ESM’s platform and take advantage of ESM’s connection with Ellucian Ethos.
ESM was the first eProcurement provider to connect with Ellucian on the Ethos platform, which relies on real-time APIs to offer seamless and constant visibility, control and management of electronic purchases. Now the University of Sharjah can maximize the investment it has made in Banner with ESM’s spend management tools.
“The University of Sharjah saw immediately how our solutions were best-in-class and the ROI in ESM was much deeper than simply dollars and cents,” ESM CEO Anthony Rotoli said. “We are thrilled to continue our expansion into the Middle East and look forward to our solution enabling a spend management transformation at the University of Sharjah and many other universities within the region.”
Benefits of ESM’s enterprise class solutions include:
- An online marketplace that features only an organization’s preferred vendors’ catalogs and negotiated contracts.
- A collaborative sourcing module that automates bids, RFPs, and vendor selection and makes it easy to communicate with vendors.
- A contract management tool that quickly integrates into existing workflows and includes an online and searchable portal that notifies users when deadlines or renewals are coming up.
- A supplier management platform where users can offload tasks, reduce data entry and offer more value and opportunity for suppliers.
“The University of Sharjah’s leadership has big expectations, and we look forward to working hand-in-hand with them to help them transform their spend management processes,” Rotoli said.
