University of New Haven chooses ESM for spend management
Small school finds affordable option with ESM
The University of New Haven will replace its manual procurement and contract management practices and fully automate the procure-to-pay process with ESM, a leading provider of spend management solutions.
The private university in West Haven, Conn., serves 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students, employs about 870 people and operates with an annual budget of about $250 million.
“Smaller colleges and universities often think that they’ll never be able to afford the cost of automating spend management. In reality, when you consider the savings that users gain from our solutions, they can’t afford not to implement these tools,” ESM CEO Anthony Rotoli said. “And we get it. We know they’re working on very tight budgets, so we work to ensure our solutions are affordable for all.”
New Haven will deploy ESM’s entire spend management suite to transform its contract management, eProcurement and bids and solicitation processes.
With ESM Contract Management, the university can streamline contract management with a fully searchable contract repository that eliminates bottlenecks. The solution offers timely notifications about contract renewals and expirations and the ability to track vendor negotiations and communications, among other features.
ESM Purchase, an eProcurement solution, includes a single online shopping portal that is populated with its approved vendors and negotiated contracts. There, users can easily search and select the items they need, compare prices and submit for approval as required. The online marketplace is as easy to use as any major e-commerce shopping site.
And ESM Bidding and Solicitation, a tailored solution that automates bid, quote and solicitation activities provides online templates, the ability to weight each section of an RFx based on strategic sourcing requirements and the opportunity to collaborate with vendors.
The applications also will give New Haven leaders better visibility into their spend with analytic dashboards and management reports. With the data, they can improve their negotiating power and find new ways to save. ESM’s solutions will easily integrate with New Haven’s ERP, Banner by Ellucian.
“No matter the size, all organizations are looking for ways to streamline their work and be more efficient,” Rotoli said. “We’re excited for the opportunity to help New Haven toss its paper processes and find new opportunities to save time and money with our solutions.”
